John Graham's System & Dialectics of Art, annotated from unpublished writings with a critical introduction by Marcia Epstein Allentuck. First published in Paris in 1937, this treatise on art, modernism and the avant-garde was long out of print until this new edition from 1971.

Graham was a Ukrainian–born American Modernist and figurative painter, art collector, and a mentor of modernist artists in New York City. Beginning in the 1930s, Graham became associated with the New York School as an artist and impresario.
