An exceedingly rare signed copy of Chomsky’s first book, Syntactic Structures. A short monograph of about a hundred pages, it is recognized as one of the most significant and influential linguistic studies of the 20th century. This is a first edition, 5th printing. Fair condition. There is clear tape along the spine (but the spine is strong and tape is not holding it together). A stamp on first page identifies it as ex-library from University of Pittsburgh. There are two damages areas to the paper covers from where tape as well as some other sticker or label was removed. None of the wear impacts readability.
