First edition of The Maze, by Maurice Sandoz and Salvador Dali.

A macabre and haunting story by Maurice Sandoz, accompanied by illustrations by Salvador Dali. Sandoz's tale tells of an isolated Scottish dwelling, its unusual owners and the supernatural experiences of its guests. Dali's surreal illustrations perfectly complement and enhance the text. The artist has provided thirteen line drawings and a striking colour dust jacket. The book was first published in 1945 in America by Doubleday Doran, the year that Dalí’s brand of Surrealism was fully embraced by America.

A good or better hardcover in a Poor dustjacket in a protective Mylar. The jacket is separated into three torn leafs. The beautiful cover and the backpiece are mostly intact but it is missing the spine of the jacket. Much fraying. The book itself is relatively solid and clean, save for a previous owners signature in pencil.
